LecturersPeter Breese is Global Technical Director, Subsea Drilling Systems, for Vetco Gray in Houston. He has over 25 years experience in subsea drilling and production technology. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science and a PhD in Rotating Electrical Machines. Dr. Breese has spent 23 years in various roles in Vetco Gray and its sister companies, notably on major projects in the TLP and Subsea arenas.
Keith Droz is currently a Senior Consultant at Multiphase Solutions, Inc. in Houston. He has provided technical service support on over 40 projects, with emphasis on steady state and transient multiphase flow modeling including such operations as start-up, cooldown, depressurization, etc. Most recently, he was in Australia working on the Gorgon/LNG project in Perth. Mr. Droz has M.S. and B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. David Fudge has a 30-year career in control engineering, including 20-years' experience of management and system engineering of diver/diverless subsea field developments, embracing conceptual design through to field commissioning, including operations and intervention with a core specialization in subsea control systems and umbilicals. David has been retained by major operating companies for long term consultancy on major subsea projects in the UK and Internationally. He is presently with Subsea Control Services, London and Deepwater Technology Company, Houston. Kieran Kavanagh is President of MCS Houston. He holds a Masters degree in Offshore Engineering from University College Cork, Ireland, and a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. He has 18 years, experience in offshore engineering, specializing in the design and analysis of floating production steel and flexible risers and umbilicals. He has also been responsible for mooring system design, vessel motions analysis and steel structural design. Bil Loth has 38 years' experience in design, engineering, and management of subsea development projects. His career has included positions with Esso Production Research (now Exxon Upstream Research), Exxon USA, Esso Europe, and Shell Expro Central Engineering, where as head of Subsea Engineering he was responsible for prospect evaluation and front-end engineering for all subsea developments, including Osprey and Gannet. Since 1986 his consultancy, WD Loth and Company, has provided subsea engineering expertise on world-class development projects for major clients in the USA, Europe, and West Africa, including conceptual field engineering, technical audits, and field development support for Ramco, Enterprise, British Gas, Occidental and others; and field development and concept selection guidelines for Shell. In 2001 ExxonMobil Development Company assigned Bil as the lead engineer for their Erha subsea systems concept selection and design development. Steve Sasanow has been editor of Subsea Engineering News since its birth in 1984. In addition to being one of the leading offshore technology writers - he has contributed to almost every offshore magazine in print - Steve has carried out consultancy work for many of the leading operators and supply sector companies, including BP, Total, Statoil, Marathon, Soekor, McDermott, Subsea Offshore and others. Glenn Wald is a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer, Shell Oil. He has 25 years experience in the industry. His primary area of expertise is design, procurement and installation of Spar and TLP riser systems. This includes concept evaluation, system design, component design, interface management, and riser component manufacturing. |
